Last updated 25 October 2026. This policy covers the free listening tools on docuvocal.com.

Files you open

In the current version, the free tools read your file and generate speech inside your web browser. We do not receive or store the contents of your documents. This will change when the DocuVocal Library launches, because the Library processes books on our servers; we will update this policy before then and explain what is stored and for how long.

Downloads from other services

• The natural voice downloads its model from Hugging Face and its speech engine files from the jsDelivr CDN the first time you switch it on.
• Text recognition (OCR) for scanned PDFs downloads its engine and language data from the jsDelivr CDN.

These services see your IP address and browser details when your browser downloads those files.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the tools are used: pages visited, and events such as a file being opened, listening started or finished, the file type and the page count. We do not send document text or file names to Google Analytics. Google may set cookies for this purpose.

Stored in your browser

We keep your reading position for each document in your browser's local storage so you can continue where you stopped. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.

Early access sign-up

If you join early access for the DocuVocal Library, the form is run by a third-party form service, which stores the details you enter. We use them only to tell you about the Library.
